Clute Park Redevelopment - Phase III - Accessible Playground 

Project Description: The Village of Watkins Glen is looking for qualified contractors to submit on the construction of site work in preparation for the installation of an accessible playground in the western portion of Clute Park. The playground equipment, footings and play surfacing has already been awarded under a cooperative purchasing agreement and it is the responsibility of this contract to fully coordinate the site work and scheduling to accommodate the playground installation.  The Project consists of the site preparation and construction of accessible pathways around and through four play area ”pods”. The playground pods are linked by a central concrete sidewalk with ramp access into the play area. The play area edges will be defined by concrete curbing to be installed as part of this contract. Benches and boulders are used for seating with a trash receptacle and an ADA drinking fountain at existing water taps. Coordination working around existing utilities will be required. The Village is planning on installing new pole lighting in the area and the contractor will need to coordinate the sequence of work to ensure installation by the Village. The planting design includes trees and shrubs in planting beds and three vegetated dry swales and berm to complete the site with other Work indicated in these Contract Documents.
