WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATOR TRAINEE: $20.20/hr. to start with a guaranteed increase at six months ($21.32) and again at one year ($22.44). $26.52/hr after the successful completion and passing score of the 2a Exam. This is routine but important work involving responsibility during a shift for the efficient operation and maintenance of a Water Treatment Plant.  The work is performed under general supervision of an Operator in Charge or Water Treatment Plant Supervisor. Does related work as required. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and possess and maintain a valid and restriction-free Class D driver's license. *Strong mathematical background is a plus.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE VILLAGE OF WATKINS GLEN:

Must obtain within 18 months from hire the follow certifications/licenses: Department of Health (DOH) 2a Water Treatment Plant Operator, “C” (Transient System with additional chlorination) and “D” (distribution) Licenses/Certifications.
