Absentee Ballot Application

The next Village Election is Tuesday, March 21, 2023.

APPLYING FOR AN ABSENTEE BALLOT

An absentee ballot application can be found in PDF format below or by clicking here. Absentee ballots are also available from both the State and county boards of elections.

Note that all absentee ballot applications must be received by the village clerk in the form of an original signed writing as electronic applications are not authorized for villages conducting elections pursuant to Article 15 of the Election Law.

The Village Clerks will, however, accept any application format when processing absentee ballot applications. For example, if a prospective absentee voter submits an application on a form that was prepared by the State Board of Elections
or a County Board of Elections, those applications will be accepted and processed in the same manner as an application that is made on the village application form.

DELIVERING ABSENTEE BALLOTS TO THE VOTERS

Voters may submit applications for absentee ballots no earlier than four months prior to the election for which they are requested. Voters may submit applications as late as the day before the election, if the application is submitted in person. However, applicants requesting that the clerk mail the absentee ballots to them must submit their applications for the absentee ballots no later than seven days prior to the election. No absentee ballot applications may be given or received on Election Day.

The village clerk will examine each application for an absentee ballot to determine, from the information contained in the application, whether the applicant is qualified to receive an absentee ballot.
